I was born and raised in Virginia, MN. I come from a family of teachers: my father, two sisters, my brother-in-law, and two nieces. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota, Duluth where I played basketball and enjoyed the great north woods. I earned my Masters Degree in education from Saint Mary’s University. I have taught special education in the Bloomington schools since 1996. My teaching philosophy is a quote from Robert M. Hutchins.
“The object of education is to prepare the young to educate themselves throughout their lives.”
