Jefferson, Kennedy high schools announce Triple A nominees
Bloomington high school seniors Samantha Sunnarborg and Ryan Meany (Jefferson) and Libby Taffe and David Vences Mendez (Kennedy) are this year’s Triple “A” (Academics, Arts and Athletics) Award nominees.
Each year, high school seniors are selected for their participation in Minnesota State High School League sponsored arts and athletics while maintaining high academic standing. They are eligible to receive a $1,000 scholarship and will be recognized during an on-court ceremony during the boys State Basketball Tournament in March.
Sunnarborg has participated in volleyball, basketball, track and field and band while maintaining a 4.12 GPA.
Meany has participated in cross country, track and field and orchestra while maintaining a 4.32 GPA.
Taffe is a member of the swim team, Kennedy Chorale and Con Brio choirs and Rhythm in Gold show choir while maintaining a 4.15 GPA.
Vences Mendez is a member of the tennis team, orchestra and a string trio while maintaining a 3.75 GPA.
