Ms. Carol Kampa, Principal
As the new principal at Kennedy High School, I am honored to lead and serve this amazing community. I strongly believe that every student has potential for greatness and that our role is to provide the instruction, programs and supports necessary to foster their academic, personal and career potential.
I have worked within the Bloomington School District since 2004. I have a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and earned my Master of Science degree in School Counseling and an administrative licensure at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Prior to coming to Kennedy High School as an assistant principal, I was the director of the Beacon ALP and served as an administrator in North St. Paul.
Ms. Kris Krenz, Assistant Principal
Ms. Krenz has been the Dean of Students, Assistant Principal, and Activities Director at Kennedy. She enjoys working with the students, staff and community of Bloomington. "We have such wonderful staff and community, and I am excited to work with all of the amazing students and families from Kennedy. I look forward to building on the current success at Kennedy in the years to come."
Previously, Krenz served as the interim assistant principal, physical education/health teacher, DAPE teacher and athletic trainer at North St. Paul High School. Krenz finished her administrative degree at the University of St. Thomas and holds a Master's and Bachelor's Degree from the University of Minnesota. Krenz also worked with the University of Minnesota athletic department and the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx.
Sam Hostetler, Interim Assistant Principal
Mr. Hostetler has been at Kennedy since 2010. While at Kennedy he has served as a special education teacher, Dean of Students, and now as Interim Assistant Principal. Mr. Hostetler earned his B.A. in Political Science and later his M.A. in Special Education from the University of Colorado Denver, and his administrative license from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. Mr. Hostetler began his career as a Special Education and English teacher in Colorado.
Mr. Hostetler is excited to serve as Interim Assistant Principal and wants all community members to know that his door is always open to them.

Ms. Rice has been serving Kennedy as a Dean of Students since the fall of 2015. After getting her Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics at the University of Minnesota in 2003 and starting her Masters in Education, she began teaching 8th graders math at Larkspur Middle School in Virginia Beach, Virginia in 2004. After three years, she moved to Wayzata West Middle School for a year teaching 7th grade. She found her niche at Kennedy High School in 2008 teaching High School Math. Since that time, she served for two years as a Curriculum Coordinator and has obtained her Masters in Education. She is currently in school at the University of Minnesota working towards her Principal's License. Passionate for math, she stays involved in the math teaching world, but is excited to serve the staff, students and families here at Kennedy High School in a greater capacity as Dean of Students.Ruth Murray, Interim Dean of Studentsrmurray@isd271.org
Mrs. Murray has been in the Bloomington district for 16 years, with experience in the classroom as well as at the district level. She has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from University of Arizona, a Masters in Special Education from the University of Minnesota, and is currently working on an administrative license through Concordia University. She has worked in special education classrooms with students ranging from elementary to transition age, including 5 years at Kennedy High School.
After five years at the district supporting special education as a curriculum coordinator, she is excited to return to Kennedy to work directly with students, staff, & families again. She believes that all learning starts with making connections & building from there to foster growth & independence.
